Pick one aim
Choose the layout, playing groups or a sample trick as the first goal. Tell everyone that questions are part of the session. A learner should not have to hide uncertainty to keep up with experienced players.
Share the reference
Ask one person to locate a passage and another to explain it in their own words. If the explanations differ, return to the passage together. Do not turn the most confident memory into a rule by default.
Use visible cards
For a teaching exercise, lay the sample where everyone can see it. Pause before a decision and ask what information is still missing. A practice with visible cards is a learning technique, not a change to the rules of a regular game.
Record questions, not guesses
Keep an unresolved item in a separate list until it can be checked. At the end, send the group the beginner route and the reference you used. The next session will then start from the same place.
