The starting format
Sheepshead.org describes a 32-card deck: sevens through aces in each suit. In its five-player deal, each player receives six cards and two form the blind.
Give the learning table clear labels
Use fixed seat labels A through E in clockwise order. Leave a separate space for the blind and a note with the full reference title. Keeping the physical areas distinct makes a new learner’s questions easier to understand.
Read the procedure in full
Before moving cards, locate the complete deal, picking and burying instructions in your selected source. A short orientation cannot resolve every exception. If someone learned a different version, record the difference explicitly rather than improvising it during the hand.
